Your donations will assist Officer Nick Wilt as he continues his long journey to recovery after a devastating injury in the line of duty.
Nick’s Story
Rookie Officer Nick Wilt and his Training Officer Cory Galloway ran toward the gunfire during the mass shooting at Old National Bank in April of 2023. Officer Wilt, just 10 days after graduating from the Louisville Metro Police Academy, was shot in the head and suffered a traumatic brain injury.
Today, Officer Wilt can continue his rehabilitation because the LMPF has stepped in to facilitate the outpouring of support for him. Your generous donations help Nick and the Wilt family as they navigate the future.
The Impact You’re Making
To date, the generous support provided by donors has made a real and lasting impact in the life of Officer Wilt. In addition to covering Nick’s mortgage, the fund has paid off his car; paid for remodeling his home – resulting in improved accessibility and quality of life; covered the cost of in-home care; and even assisted with bills for his therapy dog.
