What We Do
Backing Louisville’s Men and Women in Blue
The Louisville Metro Police Foundation is a fully independent, nonprofit organization committed to making Louisville a safer place to live, work and visit for everyone. We fund essential equipment, training and programs for Louisville Metro Police officers, as well as their families. Of course, we do all this through the generous financial support of our donors. Your generous donations help make our mission possible today and will continue to make it possible in the future.
What we believe
Improving Our Community, One Officer at a Time.
The intense physical, psychological and emotional demands of protecting our city create stress in the lives of our officers. At the LMPF, we believe each and every one of our men and women in blue deserves our respect – as well as our concern for their well-being and the well-being of their families. We remain dedicated to ensuring our officers always have backup, whether they are on the job or at home with their families. Through our numerous programs, events and initiatives, we continue to make a positive difference in the lives of our officers and the members of our community.
Our Chain of Command
The Leaders of the LMPF
The dedicated individuals who guide the LMPF are often involved on a deeply personal basis. They’re committed to our community, our officers and our organization and have sacrificed a great deal of their time personally and professionally to see that our vision becomes reality.
Rebecca Grignon-Reker
Executive Director, LMPF
Rebecca is a dedicated advocate for the LMPD and its officers. Her commitment stems from a deeply personal tragedy. In 2005, Rebecca’s first husband, LMPD Officer Peter Grignon, was killed in the line of duty. She was appointed Executive Director in 2022. Under her leadership, the foundation successfully raised over $1.5 million in less than a year to fund the purchase of a holistic Wellness Center for LMPD officers, demonstrating the community’s unwavering support for its law enforcement personnel.
Sherry Willen
Director of Office Operations
Sherry Willen has called Louisville, Ky., home for the last 28 years and is married to Lieutenant Brent Willen of the LMPD. In 2020, Sherry began volunteering with the Louisville Metro Police Foundation after the Old National Bank shooting and played a key role in managing donations to support Officer Nick Wilt. In 2023, she formally joined the foundation as Director of Office Operations. Sherry takes immense pride in being able to support her LMPD family.
